De Ivor Lewis-operatie is een chirurgische ingreep die wordt toegepast bij de behandeling van slokdarmkanker. Tijdens deze operatie worden delen van de slokdarm, de maag en omliggend weefsel verwijderd om de kanker te bestrijden. Het is een complexe ingreep, bedoeld om de spijsvertering te herstellen en de kankercellen te verwijderen.<\/p>\n

Hierbij wordt, net als bij de Ivor Lewis, de zieke slokdarm verwijderd en de maag gebruikt om de spijsvertering te herstellen. In de toekomst zullen ook dergelijke ingrepen veilig met een operatierobot kunnen worden uitgevoerd.
